Week 25: What a Wedding Week!

Numbers have been run through the conclusion of the MLB season. Team pages, Standings, and Leaders are current. Teams in gold atop each of the three contests are currently in prize territory, but nothing is official until I complete a week-by-week audit of the entire season, probably by this coming weekend. Official MLB scoring changes are still being posted as of this afternoon. It seems pretty clear who the top dog will be in each of the contests, but there a few tight races below that where a few points could alter the final standings. Thank you for your patience. The write-up for the entire season that will herald the big winners will be posted after the audit is completed.

The highest scoring team in Week 25 was the Downtown Dachshunds, who just happened to get married on Sunday and probably won’t read this until he returns from his honeymoon in a couple of weeks. The Dachshunds only scored 369 points, but when the average Lazyman team scored 305, it is still a very good week. The team from Seattle managed to climb into 2nd place in the Full-Year contest and 4th place in the Second-Half. Top players included George Kirby (45), Elehuris Montero (37), Elly de la Cruz (35), and Ronald Acuna (35). Jacob, congrats on the great week in Lazyman and the wonderful wedding! Looks like Louie is going to get a new chew toy.

With 364 points, the Flying JJ’s took the silver in the final week of the season, enabling the team to move up a few slots in the standings. As of now, the JJ’s finished in 12th, 13th, and 15th in the three contests, a feat many of us would love to have experienced. Two players went for more than 30 points for the team from Santa Rosa, Logan Webb (36) and Acuna. Jim and Jack, nice way to close the season out.

Two teams finished tied for third highest point total in Week 25 with 362, Arrow’s Buenos Huevos and the Ramblers. The Good Eggs (Fortuna, CA) moved into another potential prize by climbing into 7th in the Full-Year. Remember, this team won the First-Half contest. Kirby, Marcell Ozuna (44), Acuna, Ozzie Albies (33), and Corbin Carroll each scored 30 or more. Dan, the lady did not sing until the very end. Well done! The Ramblers from Las Vegas were led by Kirby, Albies, Carroll and a pitching staff where no one scored below 20 points to end the year on a high note. Jim, nice week.
